The whole village will be transformed back to the 1940's with displays and re-enactments  each day. 

There will be evening dances taking place on Friday and Saturday evenings.

PLOUGHS TO PROPELLERS 1940's WEEKEND

Saturday and Sunday 4th and 5th October.

Rougham Airfield, in Suffolk. 10.00 am until 5.00 pmPrizes for the best dressed dandy & doll - exhibits of forties cars & motorbikes, commercial vehicles etc, Visiting aircraft, Military Vehicle Trust, tractor and agricultural machinery with Sunday ploughing match, trade stalls, Tea real ale tent with music entertainment & Silver Bird Music show on Sunday - camping available.

Admission £6.00, concessions and children over 12 are £4.00. Under 12's are free.

1940's EVENT

Saturday and Sunday 4th and 5th October.

Carnforth Station, Carnforth. Cumbria

of  (Brief Encounter Film Fame)

On the station platform and Brief Encounter tea rooms.

There will be military vehicles, re-enactors, stalls and music on the platform. Plus a ‘Saturday Night Knees Up’ with ‘Gracie Lands and 40's Disco’ including a corned beef hash supper. 

A bar will be available.

VILLAGE AT WAR

Saturday and Sunday 4th and 5th October.

At Stoke Bruerne, Nr Towcester, Northampton.  Military Vehicles and Military re-enactors of The Military Vehicle Trust. 

A tribute to the Idle Women, women who worked the boats during the war.

 Historic Narrow Boats, Classic Vehicles, 1940's civilian re-enactors, WW11 Living History Groups, Children's 1940's games, make your own gas mask to take home. Local Home Guard Group, Military and Civilian dioramas, Traders, Swing Dance demo and afternoon tea dance. The Canal Museum Cafe will become Rene's Cafe.(AlloAllo)

Food stalls, real ale bar  much more. 

Camping available.   

Admission is free - but car parking £10.
