RAMSEY 1940s WEEKEND

Saturday and Sunday 16th & 17th  August

Ramsey, Huntingdon, Cambs. 

Ramsey takes a trip back in time  to the 1940s.

Remembering  the sights and sounds of this  era. There is a Saturday night  1940s dance, held in one of RAF Upwood's old aircraft hangars.

ON THE HOME FRONT 1939-45

Saturday and Sunday 16th & 17th August

Rufford Abbey Country Park, Ollerton, Nottinghamshire 11.00am  to 4.30pm

Living history; troops including Home Guard; vehicles: firemen; music, song and dance; entertainments, 40s traders and more. Daytime licensed restaurant. Saturday evening dance with music from G.I. Jive and the Moonlight Serenaders.

No German/Axis dress please at this event so as to maintain the Home Front theme.

Enjoy the explosive battle to liberate the station, try your hand with the wartime firefighting equipment. See the gunnery display, the fashion show and fall your children in for drill and combat training.
